Explorer
economy underwater rov
The VideoRay Explorer is an entry level remotely operated vehicle (ROV) system that provides the operator with a live video feed from the submerged robotic camera. It contains the three basic components of a typical ROV system - the submersible, tether, and a top side control unit. It has been configured for ROV users who require more functionality than the VideoRay Scout ROV systems, but still have a limited budget.
The VideoRay Explorer is depth rated to 76 meters (250 feet) and features a high resolution, 160° vertical tilt color camera, water depth readout, auto depth feature, compass heading readout, and run time meter.
The Explorer Control Panel features a 7-in color LCD display and control knobs for the submersible's horizontal and vertical thrust as well as the variable intensity halogen lighting. A separate LCD display shows depth reading and compass heading. The control panel features a composite video out jack from which a video recording device (not included) can be attached.
The VideoRay Explorer was designed to be operated in water environments with less than 1 knot of current. It is extremely simple to operate (much like playing a video game) and can usually be mastered with a little time in a calm environment such as a swimming pool or pond.
