Scout
economy underwater rov
The VideoRay Scout is a very basic and entry level remotely operated vehicle (ROV) system that provides the operator with a live video feed from the submerged robotic camera. It contains the three basic components of a typical ROV system - the submersible, tether, and a top side control unit. It has been configured for ROV users who require basic functionality on a limited budget. The Scout ROV system can be described simply as a swimming camera.
The VideoRay Scout is depth rated to 76 meters (250 feet) and features a medium resolution fixed color camera (does not tilt vertically).
The Scout Control Panel features a 7-in color LCD display and control knobs for the submersible's horizontal and vertical thrust as well as the variable intensity halogen lighting. The control panel features a composite video out jack from which a video recording device (not included) can be attached.
The VideoRay Scout was designed to be operated in calmer water environments with little current. It is extremely simple to operate (much like playing a video game) and can usually be mastered with a little time in a calm environment such as a swimming pool or pond.
